Welcome! You’re a Salon Fan Now

It’s time again for another exciting Salon at the Garden!  Please join us Sunday, April 21, for “THE BEAUTY IN THE UNEXPECTED”.

While we continue to connect with you, the audience, we’re expanding the connection toward “Art Partnerships that Connect and Influence Us:  Music, Dance, and Storytelling”.  And now, for the first time, the program will include photographic works as an element of the visual arts.

We know you will be delighted with this special opportunity to explore the concrete and abstract ways the arts can interplay to bring meaning and magic to the heart. The senses of sight and sound will tantalize your brain with understanding, memory, and delight!  You can expect the sense of touch to be impacted as well:  The room will SHAKE again with the masters of Tango to complete the night.  IF you’ve been to our salons in the past, you already know your sense of taste won’t be disappointed either!

The night’s program includes:

Ethan Yang (violin) Jonathan Okseniuk (violin) Kevin Chen (piano), three young virtuosos performing pieces by Shostakovich and Handel.

Melanie Ohm and Ann Nagell will take us into the worlds of Art Song, a form of vocal art inspired by great poetry, presenting Brazilian and American works.

Emily Matias, art photographer, will present her current work I Am My Ancestors: The Old Country and In America, exploring the theme of cultural identity.

Rusty Cline and Joanne Canalli, exceptional world-class tango dancers will perform and share stories about what makes tango a most popular dance form today.

The Salon is a non-profit event with all proceeds from ticket sales benefitting the performers. A link to purchase the tickets will be send to your shortly. Let us know in case you do not receive a link.

We look forward to seeing you at this exciting event!
